Cookies & data collection

This Confidentiality Policy explains in detail how the website, built using Prestashop, uses all of the data which is collected at the time of user sessions on your part.

Your data is collected in two different ways.

Firstly, when you browse the website, the Prestashop software program will create a certain number of cookies, which are small text files which are downloaded into the temporary files of your computer’s web browser. The first two cookies only contain a user name and an anonymous session ID which are automatically ascribed to you by the Prestashop software. A third cookie will be created once you have browsed the topics on the website, which as a result will archive all of the topics you viewed and will enable your browsing experience as a user to be improved. When you browse the website, we can also create a forth type of cookie, which is external to the document which only covers the pages created using the Prestashop software program.

The second method we use is to employ the data that you send to us and that we collect. This can be – but is not limited – the messages you post as an anonymous user, your registration on the website and the messages you post after you have registered and at the times you log in to the site.

Your account will contain at least a unique ID (user name), a personal password which enables you to log in to your account and a personal email address.

The data relating to your account on the website are protected by the Loi Informatique et Libertés (the French Data Protection Act) of 6 January 1978. In accordance with this act, as regards your personal data you have the right to access it, amend it, correct it and have it deleted.

Apart from your user name, you can control which items of information concerning your account you want to make public or not.

Your password is encrypted (by means of one-way encryption) in order that it is secure. However, it is recommended that you do not use the same password for several different websites. Your password helps you to gain access to your account on the website – ensure you keep it safe.

Under no circumstances will a person affiliated to the website, to Prestashop or to a third-party website legitimately ask you for your password.

If you forget your account password, you can use the “Lost password” feature on the website. This process will entail you being asked to provide your user name and your email address. The Prestashop software program will then generate a new password, in order to allow you to regain control of your account.
